MOBOS is license free and free of charge (no SRC required) and does not interfere in the GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress Safety System) Regardless if a sailor fell over board or a wind- / kite-surfer was blown too far away in the open ocean … thanks to MOBOS the casualty has not to be searched — which is the reason why doesn’t wait long until becoming rescued! Thanks to MOBOS the crew onboard or in the surfing station knows very quick where the person in need is located on the surface This is a very big advantage, especially in remote areas or open waters where rescues have to be operated speedily to save lives.
MOBOS-System consists of 2 units, both are GPS supported:
- MOBOS-Beacon, carried by the water sports enthusiast (attached to the PFD, clothes or neoprene suit)
- MOBOS-Receiver, placed onboard the boat or at the surfing station
MOBOS is an Electronic Rescue and Locating System for divers, Since its launch it has rescued a lot of people, and took them back home safe.
